Admission Policies

 Calvary Christian School Admissions Policies

By enrolling a child at CCS, parents enter into a spiritual, educational and financial commitment with the school. Upon enrolling a child, parents sign a statement of cooperation pledging that they will cooperate with and not in any way oppose the school’s statement of faith, purpose, philosophy, policies, procedures & regulations. Parents should fully and comprehensively read the CCS handbook and make a thorough investigation of the school (via school website, etc.) to ensure that they are fully supportive of its direction and philosophy.

Getting started: The parents of a prospective student should call the school office to request an Information Packet and schedule an interview and tour. Bring to the interview a recent report card, achievement test results, and any available documentation regarding special needs.

Basis for acceptance: Student acceptance is based on the interview, entrance testing, prior achievement test results, school grades & discipline records, references (7-12th), signed parent & student agreements (7-12th), space availability, and administrative approval.

Age requirements: 

K5 children must be five years old on or before August 31st of the current school year. If an age-eligible child enrolls in K5 more than 2 weeks after the first day of school, the child will only be accepted if he/she is evaluated and approved by the classroom teacher.

1 st grade students must be 6 years old on or before August 31st of the present school year. If an ageeligible child enrolls in 1 st grade without successfully completing a K5 program similar to CCS, the child must be evaluated by our K5 teacher and verified to be ready for 1 st grade.

2 nd -12th grade students who have not recently taken an approved national achievement test will be given an academic entrance test before grade placement is finalized.

7-12th grades:

Parent / Student Agreements are required upon enrollment and each year thereafter.

Reference Forms (7-12th) are required only at the time of initial enrollment (forms provided by CCS), and include:

        1) A “Church Reference” to be completed by the student’s pastor or youth pastor,

        2) A “Teacher Reference” to be completed by a teacher who has taught the student

                                  within the last year (not SS), and

        3) An “Administrative Reference” to be completed by the administrator of the

                                  student’s previous school.

7-12th grade students must faithfully attend a Bible preaching church each week.

Students entering 8th grade and above who are not transferring from another Christian school will be approved for enrollment on a case-by-case basis.

Not eligible:

Students who have been sexually active or married are not eligible for enrollment at CCS.

Final approval: After the interview, a student’s enrollment becomes official when we have received a completed and signed Student Application, Parent Agreement, Student Agreement & Reference Forms (7-12th), signed Financial Agreement, and registration fees.
